BIG BERTHA
Big Bertha from the Shankill
Was determined to get a tan,
So off she went to Tenerife
Herself and her wee man.
Her wee Willie loved to please her,
She was number one, in his head,
He rose each morning before the Germans,
To get her the best sun bed.
When Pedro opened up the bar,
Willie was first in the queue,
Ordered Sangria for big Bertha
And, for himself , some Mountain dew,
Now Berth has a powerful thirst,
So she knocked it back in one go!
Ordered another from Pedro
And told him, 'don't be slow'.
She drank this one back so quickly,
She almost choked on all the fruit,
Wee Willie heard her gasping,
But, he didn't give a hoot.
He dearly loved big Bertha,
As he watched her down the drink, with pride,
Wasn't he a lucky man to have her by his side?
The sunbathing session was over,
When the sun sank low in the sky,
Big Bertha couldn't control her feet,
They kept waving the ground bye, bye.
Wee Willie could see he was needed,
To keep his woman in line,
Foe she was sideways on sangria,
And a few wee tipples of wine.
He gently put his arms around her,
And said, 'Lean on me wee petal'
I'll soon have you tucked up cosy in bed,
Or I wont be worth my mettle!
Off they went from the poolside
Two steps forward and three steps back,
And, all for the sake of getting a tan,
But, sure it was worth all the craic
